After the recent HIV scare in the porn industry, porn stars must be feeling a little vulnerable and possibly even a little worried. Luckily for everyone involved, the re-test of the actor in question turned out to be negative. It’s got to make people in the industry stop and think a little bit though. Working in the porn industry would seem like a dream job to many people. Having sex all day, being around people that open-minded, seeing naked people all over the place as part of a day’s work – it all seems like it would be too good to be true in a lot of ways.

Although it’s a serious job and most likely can feel like really hard work some days, it’s got to be better than wearing a business suit and going to a stuffy office every day. There are probably some days though when the fun of being around so much sex and nudity can feel like a bit of a chore. Anything that we have to do in order to make a living can stop being fun sometimes simply from having to do it instead of doing it because we want to. No matter what, it’s likely that even a porn job is a job on some days. Still, it’s got to be better than being in boring back-to-back business meetings all day long and dealing with office politics.

Except on that rare day when a test result comes back positive and a ripple of fear disrupts an entire industry. On that day, an office job may seem the preferable option. On that day, many people probably re-consider the necessity of condoms in the future no matter how much the audience may prefer their porn without them. On that day, one must be weighted down with a sense of mortality and the potential dangers of a job that may seem like it would be the best job in the world.
